Job Summary
Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort are looking for a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team on a full-time basis.
This role involves creating high-quality pastries desserts and baked goods while supporting smooth kitchen operations. Flexibility across breakfast lunch and dinner service may be required.
As a valued team member you will contribute to exceptional dining experiences by:
- Preparing baking and presenting pastries desserts and specialty baked items to high standards
- Assisting in menu development and creation of seasonal offerings
- Maintaining consistency quality and presentation across all products
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene safety and storage standards
- Collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional guest experience
About the Venue
Our recently refurbished property introduces a sophisticated dining and bar experience showcasing panoramic views over Lake Wakatipu.
- Newly refurbished upscale hotel food and beverage operation
- Curated wine cellar featuring some of New Zealands finest wines
- Seasonal menu by Chef Gerhard Gerber focused on seasonal New Zealand seafood meats and produce
Shift Details (subject to change):
- Full time position
- Must be available to work weekends

Qualifications :
Successful candidates will have:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role in a professional kitchen
- Strong technical skills in baking patisserie and dessert preparation
- Creativity and attention to detail in presentation and flavour
- Professional presentation excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced kitchen
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
