Job Summary

The Payroll Officer is responsible for assisting with the full payroll function for approximately 3500 employees across JAG Australia. You will conduct end-to-end payroll processing and be responsible for ensuring compliance accuracy and efficiency in payroll operations.

In this role you will also: 

  • Managing payroll queries and providing expert guidance to employees and managers.
  • Processing terminations bonuses and payroll adjustments.
  • Calculating various types of leave including maternity leave long service leave and WorkCover.
  • Reconciling payroll data and ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Performing superannuation reconciliation and lodgements.
  • Collaborating with broader People & Capability team Finance and other stakeholders to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Supporting system improvements and process enhancements.
  • Staying up to date on all payroll legislative changes and their impact on employees including PAYG state tax and other relevant legislation.
  • Handling year-end processing and Single Touch Payroll (STP) submissions.

Qualifications :

About you 

  • 3 years of experience in a similar role within a high-volume payroll environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Humanforce (essential) and familiarity with Micropay is advantageous.
  • Up-to-date understanding and ability to interpret and apply Australian payroll. legislation awards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.
  • Builds strong stakeholder relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions.
  • Focus on continuous improvement
