Job Summary
Job Title: Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist
Pay Rate: $24/hour
Location: Defiance OH 43512
Duration: 7 Weeks (with possible extension)
Shift Schedule:
Monday & Thursday: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
Wednesday & Friday: 6:00 AM 2:00 PM
Position Summary:
Seeking a dedicated and versatile Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative operations. This role involves direct patient interaction clinical duties front-office and back-office support and patient education. The ideal candidate is team-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet room and assist patients during clinic visits
Measure and record vital signs accurately
Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture procedures
Administer vaccines and assist with injections as directed
Conduct EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing
Schedule patient appointments and answer incoming phone calls
Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR system
Support front-office and back-office workflows as needed
Ensure exam rooms are clean stocked and prepared for patient visits
Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to support daily operations
Provide patient education and guidance as appropriate
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship)
Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred
Occupational Health experience strongly preferred
Proven experience with phlebotomy/venipuncture
Experience using EMR systems
Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
Basic computer proficiency
Required Skills:
Front-office and back-office clinical experience
Phlebotomy and specimen collection
EKG administration
Point-of-care (POC) testing
Patient scheduling and coordination
Patient rooming and vital sign collection
BLS or CPR certification
