We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our Partners product and engineering team working on an innovative loan servicing platform that connects banks with consumers seeking flexible home improvement financing options.
You will play a key role in ensuring product quality reliability and performance across the platform. This role sits close to both Product and Engineering and is ideal for someone who enjoys identifying issues early validating acceptance criteria and contributing to system reliability through monitoring and testing practices.
We are open to strong Middle or Senior-level candidates who can take ownership of quality processes in a fast-paced startup environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Validate Acceptance Criteria (AC) in product and engineering tickets before and after implementation.
- Perform functional regression and exploratory testing of web applications.
- Identify document and track bugs and inconsistencies across frontend and backend.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers Developers and DevOps/SRE on feature quality and release readiness.
- Set up test and maintain monitors and alerts in DataDog to support system reliability and incident detection.
- Proactively detect potential risks edge cases and performance issues.
- Participate in sprint planning backlog grooming and retrospectives from a QA perspective.
- Contribute to test documentation test cases and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement of QA processes and tooling.
- Assist with release validation and post-deployment verification.
Youll Be A Great Fit If You Have:
- 3 years of experience in Software QA / Testing (5 for Senior level).
- Strong experience with manual testing methodologies and bug tracking tools.
- Experience validating product requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with web application testing (frontend backend flows).
- Experience or willingness to work with monitoring tools such as DataDog.
- Understanding of API testing (Postman Insomnia or similar tools).
- Basic understanding of databases and ability to validate data when needed.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Good spoken and written English communication skills - at least B2.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment with evolving priorities.
Nice to have:
- Experience introducing or improving test automation frameworks (Playwright Cypress Selenium etc.).
- Take ownership of quality rather than only executing test cases.
- Are proactive in suggesting improvements to product usability and reliability.
