Job Summary
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Equipment Operator to work on our Equipment and Heavy Equipment Operations team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) with every other)) Friday off.
You will operate one or several types of power construction equipment such as bulldozers scrapers compressors pumps shovels tractors or front-end loaders. You may repair and maintain equipment in addition to other duties. You will report to the manager of the Equipment and Heavy Equipment Operations department.
Responsibilities Include:
- Operate power tools and light and medium equipment including but not limited to backhoes loaders compactors and dump trucks with trailers. Other equipment may include sweepers equipment transport vehicles snowplows and related maintenance equipment of the assigned facility.
- Coordinate machine actions with other activities positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions such as utility lines other equipment other workers or falling objects.
- Perform flagging and traffic control duties at work sites.
- Perform basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Class A CDL with a Hazmat endorsement.
- Ability to obtain/qualify for Radiological Worker II within 90 days of hire date and maintain qualification for duration of employment.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy L clearance which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information:
- The pay for this position is: $39.30/hour. (Rate can vary based upon individual work location clearances and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change. These are bargaining unit positions.)
- TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this classification the employee is frequently required to stand walk sit stoop kneel bend climb ladders work at heights and in confined spaces. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type handle materials manipulate tools and reach with hands and arms. The job requires the operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
