Chileda is seeking an innovative and dynamic Director of Human Resources to join our team. Here at Chileda our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive and behavioral challenges. Chiledas goal is to help students increase their appropriate social behaviors and develop independent living skills through an enriched learning environment and individualized behavior programming. Chiledas population includes children and young adults with special needs including Autism Traumatic Brain Injury Attachment Challenges related developmental delays and intensive behavioral needs.
The Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for developing and executing a progressive talent strategy in alignment with the vision and values of Chileda in support of its overall strategic direction. The Director of HR serves as a strategic and operational leader who oversees the Human Resources function including talent management employee relations talent acquisition onboarding and offboarding performance management policy administration and compensation and benefits design and administration.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in business or human resources is required.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A high level of honesty and integrity is required.
- Minimum of seven years of human resources-related experience is required.
- Minimum of five years of supervisory and leadership experience.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite Human Resource Information Systems Application Tracking Systems etc.
GENERAL HOURS OF DUTY: This is a full-time salaried position averaging a minimum of 40 hours per week. The general hours of this position will be performed between the hours of 7:30 AM 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Additional or flexible hours of duty may be required.
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Culture:
- Develop and implement an HR plan that aligns with the overall mission and strategy of the organization resulting in innovative best practices and policies that serve the full range of Chiledas HR needs.
- Optimize the HR function/team modernize and refine critical processes and activities aligned toward achieving strategic objectives.
- Implement a vision for HR to ensure a high-performing culture of success accountability transparency and collaboration to provide fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
- Provide HR and leadership expertise and influence on special projects talent and performance reviews succession planning and learning opportunities appropriate to Chiledas business needs.
- Drive internal and external efforts toward establishing Chileda as an employer of choice within the communities we serve.
- Develop oversee and analyze staff surveys including but not limited to staff engagement job satisfaction and exit interviews. Lead initiatives to improve overall staff engagement and job satisfaction. Define measurables to track growth in these areas.
Leadership:
- Lead manage and develop a highly competent HR team that serves as valuable partners to staff and the Chileda leadership team by effectively balancing advocating for employees and the organizations needs.
- Work closely with the HR team on initiatives and programs. Oversees the management of talent acquisition employee onboarding HR policy benefits administration and employee relations.
- Direct overall management of developing comprehensive approaches to employee training talent reviews training change management organization design and strategic human capital planning.
- Drive efforts within the HR team to expand the utilization of HRIS LMS and Client Management Systems to effectuate change and mobilize HR and Operational insights across the business
- Manage the HR team in properly administering employee benefits including health insurance retirement plan and other employee benefits and wellness programs.
HR Operations:
- Maintain a database of human resources data to identify and share trends related to the employee lifecycle. Provide the Chileda leadership team with data and reports on personnel and staffing numbers as requested.
- Prepare and manage HR departmental budget and performance indicating cost savings directives where applicable.
- Identify Human Resources Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to show the overall performance of HR policies and initiatives. Report Human Resources data and KPIs quarterly.
- Consult with the executive team for annual benefit renewals including employee and employer cost analysis coordination and follow-up with annual open enrollment.
- Partner with the executive team to design a comprehensive strategy to modernize and make transparent the compensation philosophy and structure that focuses on total compensation programming.
- Maintain data tracking and submit the required information for Chiledas status as an Equal Opportunity Employer and Affirmative Action status.
- Provide HR and leadership guidance in complex or sensitive employee relations situations including mediating disputes terminating employees investigations and administering disciplinary action.
- Maintain relationships with sponsored Employee Assistant Program and promote the program with managers and employees.
- All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform this positions primary duties and responsibilities successfully. The person in this position must occasionally walk inside the office to access file cabinets machinery and conference rooms. There is constant use of hands/fingers to operate a computer and frequent use to operate phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to talk and hear to communicate and exchange information with co-workers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work will primarily be performed in an office environment at a desk with a computer. There is occasional interaction with students throughout the education building.
