About the Role
Were seeking a detail-driven Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a permanent part-time basis (2 days per week). Based at our Mooroolbark headquarters youll play a pivotal role in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time every time.
This is more than just processing numbers. Youll be a trusted partner to employees across the business delivering exceptional payroll service and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process fortnightly payroll for employees across all associated businesses
- Calculate and verify hours worked overtime deductions and other payroll components
- Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws superannuation regulations Fair Work legislation and relevant awards
- Maintain accurate payroll records including timesheets leave balances and related documentation
- Generate payroll reports and perform regular reconciliations
- Respond to employee payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Liaise with HR to ensure accurate implementation of benefits deductions and policy changes
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with system enhancements
About You
To succeed in this role youll bring:
- Employment Hero experience essential
- Minimum 23 years experience in a payroll position
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation tax superannuation and Fair Work requirements
- Experience with end-to-end payroll processes including pays end of month and EOFY
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Diploma or degree in Accounting Finance or related field (preferred)
