Payroll Officer

About the Role

Were seeking a detail-driven Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a permanent part-time basis (2 days per week). Based at our Mooroolbark headquarters youll play a pivotal role in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time every time.

This is more than just processing numbers. Youll be a trusted partner to employees across the business delivering exceptional payroll service and contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process fortnightly payroll for employees across all associated businesses
• Calculate and verify hours worked overtime deductions and other payroll components
• Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws superannuation regulations Fair Work legislation and relevant awards
• Maintain accurate payroll records including timesheets leave balances and related documentation
• Generate payroll reports and perform regular reconciliations
• Respond to employee payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Liaise with HR to ensure accurate implementation of benefits deductions and policy changes
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with system enhancements

About You

To succeed in this role youll bring:

• Employment Hero experience essential
• Minimum 23 years experience in a payroll position
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation tax superannuation and Fair Work requirements
• Experience with end-to-end payroll processes including pays end of month and EOFY
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software systems
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Diploma or degree in Accounting Finance or related field (preferred)
