Job Summary

This is a Part Time Hourly Position

Supervisor: Primary Aldair De Alvare

schedule primarily will be Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday and Sundays from 10Am to 6Pm plus up to 4 hours on call. 2 shifts available Tues Wed and Thur. and second shift Fri Sat Sun.

SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for all services provided through thrift store donations at

donation doors deliveries and pickups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Welcome all donors customers employees and volunteers equally and treat everyone

with respect.

Greet and engage with donors customers employees and volunteers in a

friendly and professional manner ensuring a positive experience for all.

2. Assist the driver in delivering or picking up heavy or light furniture food junk and/or

trash items.

Provide physical support to the driver by helping with the loading and unloading

of donated items including heavy or bulky furniture food supplies and other

requested items.

Safely handle and transport items to and from customers homes or designated

drop-off/pick-up locations.

3. Prepare donation forms.

Ensure accurate and complete documentation of donated items by properly

preparing donation forms recording necessary details and obtaining any

required signatures or receipts.

4. Record delivery or sales information on a daily sales or delivery record.

Maintain a detailed record of delivery transactions daily including pertinent

information such as customer names item descriptions quantities and any

additional notes or instructions.

5. Inform customers about the services that the organization provides.

Familiarize yourself with the organizations services and offers to effectively

communicate and educate customers about the various programs initiatives

and benefits available at the organization.

6. Listen to and resolve service complaints.

Actively listen to customer concerns complaints or issues regarding services or

products demonstrating empathy and a willingness to resolve any problems in a

timely and satisfactory manner.

7. Set up merchandise in floor space.

Arrange and display donated merchandise in designated areas ensuring proper

organization cleanliness and attractive presentation for customers.

8. Place stock on shelves racks or at the back of the house.

Restock shelves racks or designated storage areas with merchandise

maintaining proper inventory levels and ensuring items are easily accessible for

customers.

9. Provide daily maintenance of the Donation Door Area.

Regularly clean and organize the Donation Door Area ensuring a clean and wellmaintained space for accepting donations maintaining safety standards and

creating a positive first impression for donors and customers.

10. Provide daily maintenance of the entrance and general store area.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the stores entrance and general areas

including removing any clutter debris or hazards and ensuring a welcoming

environment for customers.

11. Be familiar with and able to explain promotional offers at The Thrift Stores.

Stay updated on current promotional offers discounts or special campaigns run

by the organization and effectively communicate these to customers

highlighting the value and benefits they can enjoy.

12. Maintain pleasant and appropriate relationships with donors.

Foster positive relationships with donors by expressing gratitude for their

contributions addressing any inquiries or concerns and providing a welcoming

and friendly environment that encourages continued support.

13. Assist the driver in delivering or picking up heavy or light furniture food junk and/or

trash items.

Collaborate with the driver to facilitate the safe and efficient delivery or pickup

of various items including but not limited to furniture food supplies junk and

trash.

Provide physical support in loading and unloading items onto the truck ensuring

proper handling and secure placement.

14. Load and unload the truck.

Safely load and unload items from the truck following proper lifting techniques

and utilizing appropriate equipment or tools as needed.

Organize items within the truck to optimize space utilization and ensure stability

during transit.

15. Clean the truck after every shift.

Thoroughly clean the trucks interior and exterior at the end of each shift

removing any debris trash or other materials to maintain cleanliness and

hygiene standards.

16. Work in a safe manner following safety guidelines.

Adhere to all safety protocols including but not limited to traffic regulations

company policies and guidelines related to the safe operation of the vehicle.

Prioritize personal safety and the safety of others while on the road or at job

sites.

17. Perform routine maintenance on the truck.

Conduct regular inspections of the truck to identify any potential issues or

maintenance needs such as fluid levels tire pressure and general vehicle

condition.

Report any concerns or maintenance requirements promptly to the appropriate

personnel.

18. Maintain a smoke-free environment on Poverello property including the truc

Adhere to the organizations policy of maintaining a smoke-free environment

refraining from smoking on Poverello property including inside the truck.

19. Be able to lift heavy merchandise safely.

Demonstrate the physical capability to lift heavy merchandise safely utilizing

proper lifting techniques and equipment to prevent injuries and strains.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum six months related

experience in customer service and moving heavy objects; or equivalent combination of

education and experience. Valid clear drivers license in the state of Florida.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability

to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and

small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.

Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement

volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or

oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in

standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Smart Phone GPS

systems Internet software; Online HR and payroll access Spreadsheet software and Word

Processing software.
