DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority
(Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the manager or designate the Maintenance Scheduler/Planner Facilities Maintenance & Operations (FMO) develops administers and updates maintenance plans entered in a computerized system for equipment and assets relating to Facilities Maintenance and Operations activities. Maintenance plans are used regularly by trades and maintenance staff in a variety of activities including preventive and demand maintenance activities renovations and equipment purchases/removals. The Maintenance Scheduler/Planner ensures plans are up-to-date according to equipment and asset specifications and procedures and regularly liaises with designated staff by providing work direction on maintenance plans interpretation of plan specifications published standards and drawings. Travel is a requirement of this position and transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Grade 12 graduation from a recognized program in building technology plus 3 years recent related experience including one year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid class 5 BC Drivers License.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to coordinate resources of assigned area.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment
