Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on state and local tax matters related to partnerships including compliance planning and structuring.
- Oversee preparation and review of state tax returns for multiple fund-of-funds and investment partnerships.
- Advise clients on state nexus and related filing requirements for entities and individuals.
- Determine allocation and apportionment requirements across various jurisdictions.
- Monitor state and local tax law changes assess their impact and develop proactive strategies to optimize client outcomes.
- Lead mentor and develop a team of tax professionals to deliver outstanding client service.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting (or related field).
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required.
- 7 years of experience in State and Local Tax with a focus on investment partnerships.
- Demonstrated experience responding to notices from state tax authorities.
- Strong working knowledge of tax software applications and Microsoft Office tools.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver exceptional client service.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a regional or top-tier public accounting firm.
