Job Description & Summary: The Lead Automation Engineer / Framework Engineer is a senior technical contributor and team leader responsible for designing developing andoptimizingautomation frameworks and solutions across modular and microservices-based systems. This role bridges hands-on automationexpertisewith leadership guiding QA teams and collaborating with cross-functional groups to ensure robust scalable and high-quality test automation. The engineerleveragesmodern toolsincluding Playwright and AI/LLM capabilitieswhile driving best practices in CI/CD Agile andSafeenvironments.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead mentor and manage QA automation teams fostering collaboration and high performance.

• Guideteammembers in framework design test strategy and technical troubleshooting.

• Coordinate with vendor teams and stakeholders to align testing strategies and deliverables.

Framework & Automation Strategy

Architect implement and enhance reusable automation frameworks for modular and microservices systems.

Design and execute automated test cases using Playwright Selenium and other modern tools.

• integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins GitLab CI Azure DevOps) for continuous testing and deployment.

• Ensure effective coverage of UI API and database layersvalidatingboth front-end and back-end applications.

Technical Excellence

• Drive adoption of AI/LLM-powered automation model testing and intelligent test selection.
• Optimizeframeworks for scalability maintainability and performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis troubleshoot defects and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce secure coding practices.

Continuous Improvement

• Optimizeand enhance existing automation frameworks ensuring proper documentation and best practices.
• Stay informed about the latest testing tools techniques and trendsincluding AI/ML-driven automationto continuously improve practices.

Mandatory skill sets:

• 7 years in QA automation with 3 years in a lead or framework engineering role.

• Hands-onexpertisewith Playwright Selenium Cypress and hybrid automation frameworks.

• Experience with AI/LLM model testing prompt engineering and GenAI observability.

• Proficiencyin programming languages: Python JavaScript/TypeScript Java C#.

• Experience with AI-powered tools (GitHub Copilot Cursors GenAI) for code generation test optimization and intelligent testselection.

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD DevOps and cloud-native automation (Azure DevOps Jenkins Docker Kubernetes).

• Experience with modular andmicroservicesarchitectures API testing (RESTGraphQL) and database validation (SQL).

• Experience conducting code reviews

• Familiarity with agentic automation orchestration of AI agents and integration of external LLMs.

• Experience withSAFeand Agile methodologies for scaling automation across teams.

• Knowledge of infrastructure management (VMSS cloud services distributed environments).

• Comfortable with IDEs (VS Code Visual Studio) version control (Git Bitbucket) and test management tools (Azure DevOps).

Leadership & Collaboration

• Proven ability to lead and mentor QA teams manage projects and coordinate with vendors.

• Strong communication interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience in process improvement documentation and reporting.

Initiative & Innovation

• Proactivelyidentifyopportunities for automation and AI integration.

• Lead POCs to evaluate andvalidatenew tools and technologies.

• Champion adoption of innovative solutions and foster a culture of experimentation.
