Role Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Product Owner to lead greenfield payment initiatives within a regulated financial services environment. The role focuses on designing and delivering modern scalable and compliant payment solutions in close collaboration with engineering compliance and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Own product vision roadmap and backlog for payment platforms
Lead greenfield payment projects end-to-end
Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear user stories and functional specifications
Work with payment schemes and rails including SEPA instant payments and international transfer standards
Drive Open Banking initiatives across EU and UK regulatory frameworks
Support alternative payment methods and scheme participation
Perform functional and gap analysis model payment flows and define message structures
Define test scenarios and support functional security and compliance testing
Facilitate Agile ceremonies and manage delivery with cross-functional teams
Must-Have Requirements:
Proven experience as a Product Owner or Senior Business Analyst in payments or financial services
Strong hands-on knowledge of payment systems and payment flows
Solid understanding of ISO 20022 and XML-based messaging
Experience with API integrations (REST SOAP webhooks)
Knowledge of PSD2 GDPR PCI-DSS AML principles
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Practical experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
Nice to Have:
Experience with instant or real-time payments
Exposure to clearing systems or central banking environments
