Our client is seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer.

This role is pivotal in providing cutting-edge IT solutions to global operations while ensuring the seamless integration and management of SAP technologies within the Group IT Hub South Africa.

Product / Team Context: The HR Data Management (MADAM) product offers IT solutions for master data and process management for the entire Group workforce.

This includes process-related reporting information management and self-service functionalities often linked to the International Process Template (IPT).

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Computer Science Information Technology Human Resources or a related field.
Any ABAP/SAP/HANA certification is considered a bonus.
Exposure to Agile methodologies and routine use of JIRA xRay and Confluence.

Essential Skills & Technologies:

Core Development: Proficient in SAP ABAP with a focus on HR and workflows.
Integration: Knowledge of modern integration technologies including HTTP/Client ODATA and Web Services.
Frontend Integration: Experience with Fiori/UI5 integration and designing UI elements with SAP GUI and Web-Dynpro.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot debug code and optimize processes.
Emerging Tech: Eager to learn about new technologies especially AI tools.

Advantageous Skills:

Proficiency in the SAP HCM (H4S4) data model.
Experience with HANA databases.
Familiarity with classic integration technologies like Flat files and IDocs.
Knowledge of form generation using SAP Script Smart Forms or Adobe Forms.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Solutions: Develop programs function modules reports and interfaces (ODATA ALE file-based) based on functional requirements.
Enhancements: Enhance standard SAP functionality using User Exits BAdIs and Enhancements.
Quality Assurance: Ensure clean maintainable code and create execute and document unit test cases in JIRA.
Collaboration: Partner with functional consultants and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Documentation: Document work in required formats such as interface specifications.
