Technical Manager

Our client is seeking a Technical Manager to provide strategic and operational technical leadership across agri-processing operations ensuring products are delivered in line with customer specifications regulatory requirements and operational efficiency targets.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive technical leadership and oversight across agri-processing operations including primary processing value-addition redrying packing and quality assurance functions.
• Ensure optimal factory performance through continuous process optimisation operational efficiency improvement and yield enhancement initiatives.
• Establish and maintain technical standards for all processing operations and by-products ensuring optimal handling storage safety and value recovery practices are applied.
• Design and implement process and procedural changes to meet customer requirements while minimising downtime and maximising factory efficiency.
• Analyse factory performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput yield and cost effectiveness.
• Manage and develop personnel supporting production operations embedding best practices safety standards and a performance-driven culture.
• Collaborate closely with production and cross-functional teams to ensure effective inter-departmental coordination and operational alignment.
• Act as the primary technical liaison with customers understanding current standards procedures and future requirements.
• Prepare operations for customer-driven process changes and special technical requirements.
• Conduct customer inspections and pre-season verifications while ensuring ongoing compliance with social responsibility programmes.
• Prepare and submit timely and accurate technical reports to customers addressing technical queries and resolving issues promptly.

• Strong people management and team leadership skills across engineering production and operational teams.
• Excellent analytical data-driven decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of computer literacy and reporting capability.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering preferably Mechanical Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
• A Masters Degree in Engineering or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of ten years of management experience in an agri-industry or agri-processing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in process design equipment specification and operational optimisation.
