Title: Design Technician
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)
Location: Ankeny IA 50023
Shift: 1st Shift (Start between 6:00 AM 8:00 AM)
Role Summary
- Coordinate material flow across factory departments
- Ensure parts availability for uninterrupted production
- 90% desk work 10% shop floor (PPE required)
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate procuring expediting & delivery of materials
- Maintain inventory accuracy; resolve shortages & errors
- Create daily production schedules using Master Schedule
- Expedite critical parts and manage shortage reports
- Support engineering releases & material changes
- Transfer stock between departments
- Update daily/weekly reports (Excel)
Additional Duties
- Create/edit manufacturing routings
- Review part prints & inventories
- Communicate with supply management & internal teams
- Troubleshoot material routing and laser program issues
- Occasionally model simple parts
Systems Used
- SAP
- MS Office (Excel Word PowerPoint)
- CREO AutoCAD
Required Skills
- Strong Excel & MS Office skills
- Inventory management
- Detail-oriented analytical & organized
- Strong communication skills
Nice to Have
- Reading 2D drawings (highly preferred)
- Manufacturing experience
- SAP Power BI
- CREO / AutoCAD
- Mechanical or fabrication knowledge
