The QA/QC Executive / Lab Chemist will be responsible for chemical and instrumental analysis of spices ensuring that raw materials and finished products strictly comply with FSSAI specifications and internal quality standards. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in laboratory instrumentation analytical testing documentation and compliance in a plant environment.
Key Responsibilities
Chemical & Instrumental Analysis
• Perform chemical analysis of spices including:
o Moisture
o Volatile Oil
o Crude Fibre
o Total Ash
o Acid Insoluble Ash
• Ensure accurate timely and reliable analytical results as per approved methods.
Laboratory Instrument Handling
• Operate maintain and ensure proper functioning of laboratory instruments
including:
o HPLC
o GC
o Moisture Analyzer
o Hot Air Oven
o Muffle Furnace (for total ash and acid insoluble ash determination as per FSSAI methods)
Raw Material & Finished Goods Testing
• Conduct chemical testing of Raw Materials (RM) as per approved specifications.
• Perform Finished Goods (FG) analysis prior to batch release.
• Approve or reject materials/products based on compliance to quality standards.
• Maintain retention samples and test records.
FSSAI & Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure all products meet FSSAI standards and specifications applicable to spices
and masala products.
• Follow prescribed FSSAI test methods limits and documentation requirements.
• Support internal customer and regulatory audits related to QC and laboratory
activities.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate and complete laboratory documentation including:
o Test reports
o Instrument logbooks
o Calibration records
o COAs and registers
• Prepare daily weekly and monthly quality reports for review by Manager – QC.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs specifications and quality manuals.
Deviation Handling & Continuous Improvement
• Identify report and assist in investigation of deviations and non-conformities.
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Participate in internal audits hygiene audits and GMP compliance activities.
