Option 1: The position-owning department and assigned department are the same

All reasonable relocation expenses will be covered.

(Direct reporting) You will report to designated international staff and officer (senior/principal/lead as applicable).

(Matrix reporting) You will report to (the title of the supervisor department/division/unit) and have matrix reporting line to (the title of the matrix supervisor department/division/unit) and will oversee (staff they will supervise).

You will need:

Bachelors degree in (xxx) or relevant fields.
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in xxx including international work experience for TI vacancies

(For WFR positions) Two years of relevant experience outside ADB within the past five years is required. Years as an ADB-engaged consultant or contractor are considered experience outside of ADB.

For positions under the Workforce Rebalancing Framework This position is crucial to the Workforce Rebalancing Framework (2022-2027) a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing ADBs in-house expertise previously sourced from the external workforce. The role seeks seasoned experts with substantial field experience capable of leading policy dialogue and projects focused on delivering knowledge solutions. Successful applicants may occasionally undertake short-term assignments in other departments or offices when required.

For positions funded other than ADBs IAE budget This position is funded by a temporary funding source (e.g. a trust fund financing facility or capital expenditure budget) and therefore the renewal of the appointment and its duration are subject to the availability of the funding source.

If position is offered to fill a position temporarily which was vacated as a result of SLWOP with the goal to allow the former incumbent to assume the role after SLWOP This position is offered to meet the temporary need of name of department/office/division as the previous occupant is currently on Special Leave without Pay (SLWOP). The name of group/department/office/division may allow its staff to assume their former position upon return from SLWOP and upon expiration of your fixed term appointment.

For Outposting of TI Positions owned by HQ-based divisions identified for outposting to RM: You will be based at our ADB Headquarters in Manila and may be assigned in one of (departments) resident missions.

(For TL FO Vacancy) This opening is a local staff position. It is open only to nationals and permanent residents of Country.

(For PLCO TL1-TL3 Vacancy) This opening is a local staff position with a local compensation package. It is open only to nationals of Australia or permanent residents residing in the duty station Australia who are nationals of an ADB member country.

(For PLCO TL4-TL8 Vacancy) This opening is a regional staff position with a local compensation package. It is open to nationals and permanent residents residing in the duty station Australia and ADB member countries in the Pacific region such as Cook Islands the Federated States of Micronesia Fiji Islands Kiribati Nauru Neue New Zealand Palau Papua New Guinea the Republic of the Marshall Islands Samoa Solomon Islands Timor-Leste Tonga Tuvalu Vanuatu.

For FT-REG

This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period this appointment may at the option of ADB be extended once for up to 2 years converted to a regular appointment or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staffs particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staffs performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.

For FT-REN with Option to Renew

This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew initially for a period of up to 3 years or up to the Normal Retirement Date (NRD) whichever comes earlier for the purpose(s) and conditions determined by ADB in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2.01 (Recruitment and Appointment). After the initial fixed-term period ADB may choose to renew the appointment for up to an additional 3 years or not renewed. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB based on factors including but not limited to the requirement of Staffs particular blend of skills and experience for the medium-term work program of the organizational unit sufficient funding to cover the renewed period and Staffs performance and suitability for employment. There is no limit to the number of renewals up to NRD. However this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.

For FT-REN with Option to Renew that has been disapplied

(For Pool Staff) This is a fixed-term appointment for up to 3 years. It does not include options for this regard the appointment will automatically expire upon the completion of the fixed-term period without prior notice. This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment

(For positions funded by sources other than ADBs IAE budget and it is anticipated that funding will not be sufficient for a subsequent fixed term period). This is a fixed-term appointment for a period of up to 3 years funded by name of external funding source. This appointment does not include an option for renewal as no further funding is available after this regard the contract will automatically expire at the end of the fixed-term period without prior notice. This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.

For FT-M

For M1 positions External This is a fixed-term appointment for a managerial position initially for a period of 3 years or up to Staffs Normal Retirement Date (NRD) whichever comes earlier in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2.01 (Recruitment and Appointment). After the initial fixed-term period ADB may choose to renew the appointment for an additional fixed term period of up to 3 years or allow it to expire. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB based on factors including but not limited to ADBs medium- to long-term plans for the organizational unit the relevance of the staffs skills to those plans and the staffs managerial and behavioral competencies. Notwithstanding the length of the initial or any subsequently renewed FT-M the expiration date of any fixed-term appointment will not exceed the Staffs NRD. There is no limit on the number of renewals up to Staffs NRD. However this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.

For M23 positions This is a fixed-term appointment for a managerial position initially for a period of 3 years or up to Staffs Normal Retirement Date (NRD) whichever comes earlier in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2.01 (Recruitment and Appointment). After the initial fixed-term period ADB may choose to renew the appointment for an additional fixed-term period of up to 3 years or allow it to expire. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB based on factors including but not limited to ADBs medium- to long-term plans for the organizational unit the relevance of the staffs skills to those plans and the staffs managerial and behavioral competencies. Notwithstanding the length of the initial or any subsequently renewed FT-M the expiration date of any fixed-term appointment will not exceed the Staffs NRD. There is no limit on the number of renewals up to Staffs NRD. However this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.
