As a Community Support Worker (Aged Care Worker) you will provide respectful personcentred inhome support to older people living in the community under the Support at Home program. Working primarily on a onetoone basis you will deliver services autonomously in clients homes following individual care plans and organisational policies.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with personal care such as showering dressing grooming toileting mobility and medication assistance (where trained)
- Providing domestic assistance including cleaning laundry meal preparation and shopping
- Offering companionship and social support encouraging participation in social and community activities
- Supporting transport and community access including appointments and outings (where required)
- Observing documenting and reporting changes in clients wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate records in line with aged care standards and regulatory requirements
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- A compassionate respectful and personcentred approach to care
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision in clients homes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability flexibility and effective timemanagement
Essential / Highly desirable:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support Aged Care or Community Services (or willingness to obtain)
- Current National Police Check and relevant worker screening
- Current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Australian drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle (for communitybased roles)
- Ability to understand comply with and uphold the Aged Care Code of Conduct in all interactions
Ability to maintain vaccination status as required by government funding bodies and host agencies
