About therole:

We arecurrently seeking casual Outreach Support Workers to join our teamin Rockhampton. Our Outreach Support Workers will provide respiteto carers by taking planned outings with young people (these shiftsare likely to take place in the afternoon or on the weekend). Aspart of the Residential Care team shifts in our Residential Carehomes will also be available.

Whatwill a typical day look like

  • Provide opportunities for children and young people to develop and learn life skills appropriate to their age and ability.
  • Support young people in maintaining connections with family culture country and community.
  • Support young people to develop safety health and wellbeing measures.
  • Support social recreational educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.
  • Support young people in accessing appointments (transport).
  • Engage therapeutically with young people.

MandatoryRequirements:

  • Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or equivalent or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).
  • 1 year relevant experience working with young people in out of home care or similar field.

Alternativequalifications or working towards:

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Community Services or Youth Work
  • Diploma in Behavioural Science Counselling Nursing or Mental Health

  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
