Responsibilities

The Technical Coordinator (TC) will lead efforts to coordinate collaborate and communicate with national regional and local multisectoral stakeholders and support the end-to-end implementation of Jhpiego Philippines project activities related to Global Health Security and Infectious Diseases to ensure efficient and effective program delivery. The TC will also support Jhpiegos strategic goals for growth and expansion.

The position requires strong technical grounding in public health and development excellent coordination and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple activities while ensuring alignment with regional and local priorities.

Program Implementation and Coordination

  • Support the implementation of Jhpiegos project activities in Navotas City and other potential locations ensuring activities are delivered on time within scope and aligned with approved workplans and budgets.
  • Coordinate closely with DOH Centers for Health Development LGUs and other stakeholders to support project-related planning implementation and review activities.

Technical Assistance and Capacity Strengthening

  • Provide technical assistance to regional and local stakeholders including support for service delivery improvement systems strengthening and community-based interventions.
  • Plan organize and facilitate trainings workshops and learning activities for health workers and program partners.
  • Support demand generation and community engagement activities related to family planning maternal and child health adolescent health and development and other Jhpiego program areas.
  • Contribute to policy advocacy efforts by providing technical input documentation and coordination support for meetings consultations and policy-related initiatives.
  • Perform other duties related to program implementation and organizational priorities as required.

Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL)

  • Conduct regular monitoring visits and coordination meetings to track program progress and identify implementation challenges and best practices.
  • Contribute to evaluations learning activities and documentation of lessons learned and good practices.

Planning Reporting and Documentation

  • Support the development of annual and periodic workplans activity plans and budgets in coordination with Jhpiego technical and operations teams.
  • Support the development of high-quality technical and narrative reports for internal use and for submission to donors and partners.
  • Contribute to the development of concept notes proposals and other technical documents to support program growth and expansion.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in nursing medical technology public health allied health sciences or related field.
  • A postgraduate degree in public health development management health policy or related discipline is a strong advantage.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in public health or development work. Candidates with fewer than five years of experience may be considered if compensated by relevant graduate education.
  • Demonstrated experience working with the Department of Health and local government units is required.
  • Experience in one or more of the following technical areas is highly desirable (a combination is a strong advantage):
    • Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance
    • Health Emergency Preparedness and Response
    • Laboratory and diagnostics systems strengthening
    • Multi-sectoral coordination/One Health
    • Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)
    • Digital health systems
    • Emerging and reemerging Infectious diseases
  • Experience in research operational studies or data analysis is an advantage.

Skills Competencies and Values

  • Excellent coordination communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with government and development partners.
  • Strong technical writing skills including report writing proposal development and concept note preparation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft 365 Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong professionalism integrity and cultural sensitivity.
