Recruitment Number 26-011LK Court Administrator II (Court Services Support) SR-26 Honolulu Oahu.

Summary of Duties
This position is responsible for overseeing essential court support functions including jury selection court reporting and interpreting services. The role involves managing the statewide jury process ensuring accurate recording and transcription of proceedings and coordinating foreign language interpretation across all First Circuit courts. It includes planning directing and evaluating branch operations; developing and implementing policies and procedures; managing budgets contracts and staff; and collaborating with internal and external partners to maintain efficient compliant operations. The position also represents the Branch on committees supports legislative and administrative initiatives and ensures high-quality service delivery through effective leadership and resource management.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Education Requirement: Graduation from an accredited (4) year college or university with a bachelors degree.
Excess work experience as described under Specialized Experience below or any other responsible administrative professional or analytical work experience which provided knowledge and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a bachelors degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. To be acceptable the experience must have been of such scope level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge of comparable knowledge and abilities.
The education or experience background must also demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically.
Specialized Experience: Three (3)years of progressively responsible professional administrative technical work experience in one or a combination of the following areas. Clerical work experience is non-qualifying:
1. In a court or legal setting responsibility for supervising or overseeing the operational activities of a unit or section whose primary function is the preparation and/or processing of legal documents. Such experience must have included: (1) planning and directing the work of others; (2) assigning and reviewing their work; (3) advising them on difficult problem areas; (4) timing and scheduling their work; (5) training and developing new employees; and (6) disciplining them when necessary. Examples of legal setting are: Office of the Prosecutor Public Defender Department of the Attorney General legal department in a financial institution or trust company private attorneys office.
2. Independently performing professional work involving written analysis evaluation and recommendations for problem resolution in a court or legal setting or those social work or administrative programs of the courts.
For purposes of this section non-supervisory and supervisory work experience performing and/or supervising general clerical in not qualifying.
Staff Specialist OR Supervisory Experience: Six (6) months of experience in one of the following areas:
A. Staff Specialist Experience:Work in a criminal justice system which included the development and/or modification of an institutional program and/or work in a criminal justice system which included program development; evaluation and the development of new and revised procedures; and advisory services to management in the overall aspects of program development and evaluation.
B. Supervisory Experience:Experience which included: (1) planning and directing the work of others; (2) assigning and reviewing their work; (3) advising them on difficult problem areas; (4) timing and scheduling their work; (5) training and developing of new employees; and (6) disciplining them when necessary.
The required years of Supervisory Experience is separate from meeting the Specialized Experience requirement under #1 above.
Administrative Experience: Six (6) months of progressively responsible work experience in a court or legal setting social work or administrative program of the courts which involved active participation in and major responsibility for the development of policies and procedures; and the development management execution and coordination of program operations and activities.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
A. A Masters degree in business public administration or criminal justice administration or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of Specialized Experience.
B. Graduation from an accredited school of law may be substituted for one (1) year of Specialized Experience.
