Your Role
As a Sea Logistics Sales Representative you will focus on developing and diversifying business in line with financial and volume targets. You will achieve this by working collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders focusing on the following key objectives:
Your Responsibilities
- Sales Pipeline Management
- Own monitor and drive all sales activities for customers within your control.
- Identify qualify and nurture prospects through the sales pipeline to close profitable and sustainable customer deals.
- Internal Collaboration
- Align sales efforts with Customer Care Location (CCL) Managers Pricing and Sea Logistics Business Development teams including pricing decisions.
- Collaborate with CCL colleagues when onboarding new customers.
- Market Intelligence & Customer Feedback
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing and products.
- Report customer feedback to the CCL team and support resolutions as required.
- Customer Engagement
- Focus on customer engagement satisfaction retention and reactivation through high levels of service quality in close collaboration with the CCL team.
- Maintain and update the most relevant customer information in internal systems.
- Portfolio Reviews
- Regularly review customer portfolios with the CCL Managers and team to optimize performance.
Key Characteristics of the Role
This position offers the opportunity to work in a dual-capacity sales role:
- Team-Oriented Sales Approach: Collaborate with a local forwarding team to achieve shared GP targets.
- Independent Sales Approach: Operate as a lone rider focusing on building strong relationships knocking on new doors and hunting for fresh business opportunities.
Your Skills and Experiences
- Strong focus on customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proven knowledge across sea logistics operations.
- Ability to handle both import and export shipments focusing on trade lanes including TP EU/EMEA and IAD.
- No requirement for strong English skills; Japanese proficiency is sufficient.
- Motivated by financial incentives and driven to exceed targets.
Requirements
- Experience:
- Established network of clients within the sea logistics industry.
- Senior candidates should have a proven track record of bringing in business.
- Junior candidates must demonstrate high energy and a strong motivation to grow.
- Motivation:
- Highly motivated by financial incentives including a salary of JPY 9-10M and a USD30/TEU Sales Incentive for new business in deep sea trades (Europe/Trans Pacific).
Sales Incentive: USD30/Teu for deep sea trades
