As part of the Maryland State Department of Education the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) provides services to assist students with disabilities prepare for the work world vocational rehabilitation services to assist adults with significant disabilities who are seeking to enter or reenter the workforce and the adjudication of Social Security disability claims for the citizens of Maryland.

POSITION DUTIES
The main purpose of this position is to serve as the primary architect and steward for the design launch expansion and long-term sustainability of educator development pathways across Marylands 24 local school districts. This position plays a pivotal role in cultivating a diverse and well-prepared teacher workforce by ensuring the alignment of initiatives with the Blueprint for Marylands future including statewide goals for educator recruitment preparation and retention. The Coordinator will work to strengthen the educator pipeline by supporting innovative entry points into the profession removing barriers to access and aligning all program components with both workforce needs and the States long-term vision for equitable access to high-quality educators.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the development coordination and continuous improvement of teacher pipeline initiatives including recruitment campaigns registered apprenticeships and Grow Your Own programs.
- Provide technical assistance to local education agencies educator preparation programs community colleges and four-year institutions to support effective implementation of teacher pipeline programs.
- Assist in developing resources tools and guidance documents to support program partners and stakeholders.
- Administer and oversee state grant programs related to the recruitment and preparation of educators in Maryland.
- Identify prepare and submit federal grant applications to expand and sustain teacher registered apprenticeship programs.
- Provide ongoing technical assistance to grantees on program design fiscal management and reporting requirements.
- Oversee day-to-day administration of the States Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program (RTAP).
- Coordinate statewide and local recruitment strategies designed to expand and diversify Marylands educator workforce.
- Develop communications outreach materials and presentations that promote teacher pipeline opportunities.
- Participate in workgroups advisory committees and interagency meetings related to educator workforce development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: AMasters degree or the equivalent of 36 credit hours of post-baccalaureatecourse work from an accredited college or university.
Experience:Fiveyears of administrative or teaching experience in coordinating or administeringeducation programs or services including two years of experience writing and managing Federal or State grants at aninstitution of higher education or local education agency.

2. Candidates may substitute thepossession of a Doctorate degree at an accredited college or university in afield related to the position for one year of the required experience.
3. The required field ofeducation and experience are unique for each option and are established by MSDEin accordance with Education Article Section 2-104 of the Annotated CodeofMaryland. The specific education and experience qualificationsfor each position are on record in the Human Resource Branch.
4. Candidates may substitute Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in EducationProgram classifications or Education Program specialty codes in the Educationfield of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience andeducation.

- Experience managing or leading registered apprentice programs.
