Position Summary
The Assistant Manager Human Resources (Payroll Management) is responsible for ensuring accurate timely and compliant payroll processing for all colleagues while upholding Fairmonts luxury service culture confidentiality standards and statutory obligations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining colleague trust compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all permanent contractual and casual colleagues.
Ensure accurate computation of wages overtime incentives service charge distribution leave encashment and statutory deductions.
Validate attendance rosters night shifts weekly offs and leave data in coordination with departmental heads.
Process Full & Final settlements gratuity bonus and statutory payouts accurately and within timelines.
Ensure timely salary disbursement and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
Statutory Compliance
Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws including PF ESIC PT LWF Bonus Act Gratuity Act and Income Tax.
Coordinate monthly quarterly and annual statutory filings and reconciliations.
Liaise with government authorities auditors and consultants during inspections and audits.
Maintain updated statutory records and registers as per legal requirements.
Systems & Data Management
Manage payroll through HRMS and payroll software ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Coordinate with IT and Finance teams for system enhancements integrations and troubleshooting.
Generate payroll reports MIS and analytics for management review.
Employee Support & Engagement
Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries providing clear and empathetic resolutions.
Educate colleagues on salary structures deductions benefits and tax implications.
Support employee engagement initiatives by ensuring transparent and error-free payroll processes.
Coordination & Collaboration
Work closely with Finance for payroll accounting provisions and reconciliations.
Coordinate with Recruitment and Operations teams for new joiners exits transfers and promotions.
Support annual salary reviews increments and budgeting exercises.
Audit & Controls
Conduct periodic payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and control.
Ensure strict confidentiality of payroll and employee data at all times.

Qualifications :
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate/Postgraduate in Human Resources Commerce or related field.
Minimum 46 years of relevant payroll experience preferably in luxury hotels or hospitality.
Experience handling large employee headcounts is an advantage.
