Language Specialist German (12-Month Contract), Prime Video Japan

We are seeking a skilled Language Specialist to join our team in the Tokyo Office on a 12-month contract basis with a focus on the German this role you will be responsible for reviewing language assets logic and coherence grammar and punctuation spelling consistency style language usage and formatting improving customer streaming experience with Amazon language solutions. Tasks may include proofreading and editing subtitles metadata and a variety of other written communications.

IMPORTANT: This is not a remote position you are required to work on site. Open to German applicants expected to work from the Tokyo Office.


Key job responsibilities
- Conduct Linguistic Quality Assurance checks on audio subtitles narratives video and artwork to ensure overall content quality
- Support the implementation of language-related processes to ensure consistency and quality of German language services
- Collaborate with team members to understand language requirements and deliver quality results
- Stay current with best practices in language services particularly related to the streaming and entertainment industry
- Contribute to the improvement of language processes and workflows
- Share knowledge and support other team members on German language-related matters

- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- Native level proficiency in German and fluency in English
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with moderate guidance

- Experience providing German Linguistic Quality Assurance services including translation or linguistic support
- Translation or proofreading experience in various formats including documents and timed texts
- Interest in the media and entertainment industry particularly streaming services
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
