Job Summary

The Assistant Project Manager at Miller Electric supports the Project Manager in coordinating electrical construction projects with emphasis on branch power and kitchen power installations. This clientfacing role involvesassistingwith estimating subcontractor management plan reviews design issue resolution and field coordination to ensure work meets project specifications and codes. The position offers handson learning through daily collaboration with project teams clients and field personnel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Assistin estimating project scope and costs
  • Manage projects with subcontractors
  • Communicate with clients and subcontractors
  • Attend and activelyparticipatein project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as requested or
  • Research and preparation of change requests to resolve design issues for approval
  • Research and recommend solutions to design document problems including conflicts interferences and errors/omissions
  • Monitor field work and/or contract work to ensure compliance with company standards procedures specifications and codes
  • Assistwith the submittal process
  • Assistin the tracking and completion of billing

Electrical Branch & Kitchen Power Duties:

  • Support the layout coordination and installation ofelectrical branch circuitsincluding lighting receptacles power distribution and equipment connections
  • Assistwith reviewing branch circuit drawingsidentifyingconflicts and coordinating routes with field teams and other trades
  • Help manage and trackkitchen power installationsincluding dedicated circuits for appliances equipment drops panel schedules and load requirements
  • Coordinate with the field to ensure all kitchen equipment receives proper power breakers and wiring per plans and code
  • Review electrical details for branch and kitchen areas to confirm they meet NEC requirements project specifications and client expectations
  • Assistin generating RFIs related to electrical branch power kitchen equipment loads and field coordination issues

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • A College degree journeymans license or master electricians license
  • Understanding of electrical installationsand drawings
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment

PREFERRED

  • Experience in dealing withlarge commercialconstruction/contractingprojects
  • Experience with stadium branch power and kitchen power installations
  • Electrical contracting assistant project management experience
  • Electrical contracting assistant project management experience
  • Familiar with computer-based estimating
  • Knowledge of billing and collections
