Job Summary

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Program Lead

Temporary Full-time Position - 35 Hours Per week; 12 months(1.0 FTE)

Salary range: $73801 - $83864 per year

Start date: Immediately; Duration: Unknown

The ABA Program Lead will be responsible for supporting principals teachers and support staff by providing and coordinating autism spectrum disorder (ASD) training services and resources as it relates to the needs of students with ASD and to facilitate collaboration between service providers and schools.

Key Job Requirements :

  • Experience creating and supporting Functional Behaviour Assessments developing individualized Transition Plans Behaviour Support Plans and/or Safety Plans.
  • Experience coordinating and facilitating adult learning and training.
  • Creating and facilitating formal and informal professional development opportunities on various topics in ABA.
  • Experience working with neurodiverse children and youth.
  • Knowledge of the elementary and secondary education system in Ontario.
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate and up-to-date student records.
  • Provide support to principals teachers and support staff in the use of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) strategies and best practices to address behavioural goals.
  • Monitor progress through data collection and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Support children and youth transitioning from the Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) program to school (e.g. observe IBI sessions attend Case Conferences and support reintegration into the classroom) Entry to School Program (ETS) and other programs.
  • Represent the school board when liaising with community partners associated with outside/external agencies.
  • Facilitate collaboration between service providers and the school board.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Student Achievement Leader for Special Education or Superintendent of Special Education.

Qualifications :

  • Masters degree with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis or successful completion of a post-secondary degree in science social/behavioural science or autism and related field experience.
  • In good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • A minimum of three years related work experience.
  • Experience providing and/or facilitating adult learning and training.
  • Experience working with children and youth with autism spectrum disorder and/or behavioural challenges.
  • Training and knowledge in applied behaviour analysis principles from a recognized institution.
  • Knowledge of the elementary and secondary education system in Ontario.
  • Familiarity with special education issues particularly those relevant for children and youth with autism.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to function effectively with administrators staff parents students outside agencies and others.
  • Ability to function independently within the framework of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information.
  • Strong abilities in a computerized environment including word processing internet and e-mail.
  • Reliable transportation and valid drivers license.

The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board offers a Christ-centered education to over 13000 students from Brant Haldimand and Norfolk counties the City of Brantford Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
