*Please note this is a Grade 6 Homeroom position. Teachers do not instruct any courses in the Islamic Program. The successful candidate will teach ELA SS Math Science & other classes listed in the Alberta Education Programs of Study.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education.
• Is aware and supports the Fort McMurray Islamic Schools Education Vision document and mission statement.
• A child-centered approach to instruction and teacher/student relationships.
• Effective organizational skills and classroom management.
• A strong knowledge of the curriculum and teaching experience in division 1 or division 2
• Exhibit a strong work ethic and open to new programs and initiatives
• Understand and support district big 3 initiatives- healthy and active school high academics and environmental stewardship
• A balanced approach to literacy.
• An ability to design and implement individual program plans for special needs students.
• A willingness to incorporate differentiated instruction and response to intervention to provide for individual needs.
• An ability to utilize technology as an instructional tool.
• An ability and commitment to work as a member of a team in a collaborative work environment.
• An ability to establish productive relationships with staff and parents.
