The Reynoldsburg City Schools Director of Curriculum and Instruction serves as the districts lead instructional executive providing strategic oversight of curriculum instruction assessment and professional learning to ensure alignment with Ohio Learning Standards district priorities and equitable multi-tiered instructional practices. This role supports continuous improvement across schools through instructional leadership data-informed decision-making and capacity building for principals teachers and instructional leaders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Education or a related field
  • Valid Ohio Administrative or Professional Certificate
  • Minimum of 57 years of successful K12 classroom teaching experience
  • Minimum of 35 years of instructional leadership experience (e.g. principal assistant principal instructional coach curriculum coordinator department head)
  • Demonstrated experience leading curriculum development instructional improvement and professional learning initiatives
  • Proven experience using district and building-level data to guide instructional decisions
  • Experience supervising staff and managing instructional programs or initiatives
  • Effective written and oral communication

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior instructional leadership or administrative experience
  • Experience with interpreting and analyzing Ohio State Report Card indicators and Value-Added data toward student achievement and growth
  • Experience overseeing Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) gifted education federal programs assessment systems STEM or College Credit Plus initiatives
  • Experience integrating technology into curriculum and instruction
  • Career-Technical Education (CTE) Pathway knowledge experience
  • Career and Workplace Readiness experience
  • Ohio Teachers Evaluation System and Ohio Principal Evaluation System (OTES/OPES) credentials
  • Effective written and oral communication

Curriculum Development Alignment and Implementation

  • Lead the development revision and alignment of K12 curriculum across all content areas
  • Ensure curriculum coherence with Ohio Learning Standards and district instructional priorities
  • Oversee curriculum maps scope and sequence documents unit plans and instructional frameworks
  • Guide curriculum adoption processes including instructional materials and digital resources

Instructional Improvement and Accountability

  • Provide instructional leadership to support rigorous equitable Tier 1 instruction across schools
  • Collaborate with principals and instructional leaders to monitor instructional practices and student engagement
  • Oversee State Report Card reporting and the Value-Added roster verification process
  • Monitor instructional outcomes and support districtwide continuous improvement efforts

Assessment Data Analysis and Decision-Making

  • Manage the district assessment system including state testing benchmarking and progress-monitoring tools
  • Ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Education requirements related to assessment and reporting
  • Support principals and teachers in analyzing data to monitor student progress and inform instruction
  • Align assessment practices with MTSS and continuous improvement processes

Specialized Instructional Programs

  • Provide leadership and oversight for district instructional programs including gifted education MTSS federal programs STEM/innovation initiatives instructional technology and College Credit Plus
  • Supervise district coordinators for Data/Assessment Gifted Education Federal Programs/MTSS and Instructional Technology
  • Ensure program goals resources and implementation are aligned and effective
  • Monitor compliance with state and federal requirements

Professional Learning and Capacity Building

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive district professional learning system
  • Align professional development to district goals research-based practices and school improvement needs
  • Build the instructional leadership capacity of principals and instructional leaders
  • Ensure coherence between district initiatives and building-level professional learning

Strategic Leadership and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with district leadership principals and community partners to implement the district strategic plan
  • Represent the Curriculum and Instruction office at board meetings school events and community initiatives
  • Support grant applications reporting and compliance related to instructional programs
  • Prepare reports and presentations for the Superintendent Board of Education and stakeholders
  • Participate in cross-department teams focused on equity technology integration and innovation
  • Mentor and support emerging instructional leaders and coordinators

  • Assessment systems including formative summative and benchmark assessments

  • Managing multiple initiatives timelines and priorities simultaneously
  • Using data systems spreadsheets productivity software and emerging AI tools to support instruction assessment and reporting

  • Make informed evidence-based decisions in complex environments
  • Build strong relationships with staff families community partners and agencies
  • Adapt to evolving educational priorities and state requirements
  • Identify challenges and develop innovative equitable solutions

Working Conditions The employee may experience occasional exposure to blood bodily fluids and tissue and may be required to interact with unruly students. Occasionally required to work late hours or on weekends
