Job Summary

Job Summary

Assists and supports Food Service Supervisor. Oversees administration of food service activities within the district to include oversight of free and reduced meal applications. Ensures that state and federal regulations governing this program are met and in compliance. Assists with reviewing documentation for meal counting and claiming to ensure accuracy in meals claimed for federal reimbursement.

Essential Functions

compliance for Food Service Operation with local state and federal regulations.

contracts for compliance with appropriate local state and federal regulations and or guidelines.

reports and completes required forms for programs such as the National School Lunch Program School Breakfast Program After School Snack Program and Summer Food Service Program.

with Free and Reduced Meal Application functions including application processing and verification.

in Food Service internal audit functions including review of Edit Checks meal counting and claiming documents deposits refunds and cashtransactions.

with online meal prepayment system.

cash audits.

training materials and delivers training presentations.

school menus presented by the Food Service Management Company for dietary completeness and compliance with governing regulations.

other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Education: None

Experience: Two (2) years administrative/management experience in food service contract compliance vendors and commercial equipment

Certifications & Licenses: NA. (must attend Servsafe class within six months of employment)

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of contract compliance processes
  • Knowledge of all local state and federal policies rules and regulations related to the appropriate expenditure and management of funds
  • Knowledge of basic accounting
  • Strong oral written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong word processing spreadsheet and database software skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong report generation skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to ensure compliance with related statutes and regulations
  • Ability to evaluate federal compliance issues
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations
  • Ability to analyze school menus for dietary completeness and compliance with governing regulations
  • Ability to read understand and interpret regulations
  • Ability to review analyze monitor and audit all funds assigned to the department
