Job Profile & Objectives
- Primary Goal: To act as a filter by ensuring only quality-approved materials are used in production.
- Supervisory Element: Oversees subordinate inspectors manages the inspection area and handles the quarantine of non-conforming materials.
- Documentation: Ensures accurate recording of inspection results supplier performance metrics and maintenance of quality records.
- Supplier Management: Coordinates with Purchasing team Suppliers and engineering teams regarding supplier quality issues
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection & Testing: Perform visual dimensional and functional inspections using tools like calipers micrometers gauges and if necessary CMM.
- Verification: Compare received goods against purchase orders drawings technical specifications and Supplier PDIR.
- Non-Conformance Handling: Identify tag and quarantine defective materials. Initiate Non-Conforming Material Reports (8D).
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed accurate records of inspection data including in E systems (e.g. SAP).
- Supplier Feedback: Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and support Supplier Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with QMS (ISO 9001/AS9100) and follow safety health and environmental policies.
- Team Leadership: Train and mentor junior inspectors in inspection techniques and proper documentation.
Required Competencies & Skills
- Technical Skills:
- Drawing Reading: In-depth knowledge of engineering drawings GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and welding symbols.
- Metrology: Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (calipers micrometers height gauges).
- Sampling Plans: Understanding of statistical sampling (DIN/ISO standards) .
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP) and MS Office (Excel Word).
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes: Injection Molding Rubber Sub assly Sheet metal Stamping Welding Plating ED coating or having working experience in above processes will be an added advantage..

- Education: B.E / B tech (Mechanical/Industrial Production)
- Experience: 812 years of hands-on experience in measurement of mechanical parts (Sheet metal Plastic Rubber Forgings Castings inspection) within a manufacturing environment.
- Certifications: IATF Internal auditor certified course FMEA SPC 7 QC tools knowledge and hands on experience will be an added advantage
- Industry preference : Automobile Industry (catering to major OEMs)
