About the Role

Exciting Opportunity: Lab Analyst (Microbiology & Molecular Biology)
Are you a detail-oriented scientist with a passion for microbiology and molecular biology Were seeking a Lab Analyst with experience in microbiology and molecular biology to support routine microbial testing of cannabis and related products. This role involves hands-on laboratory work using plating-based methods and qPCR assays in a regulated fast-paced environment. The position reports to the Lab Manager.

What Youll Be Doing
As a Lab Analyst your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing samples media reagents calibration standards and Quality Control materials
• Performing microbial testing using plating methods and qPCR assays
• Detecting and enumerating bacteria and fungi
• Interpreting results and ensuring data accuracy and integrity
• Recording results and maintain documentation in LIMS
• Maintaining Quality Control records and supporting data reviews
• Following SOPs safety policies and quality system requirements
• Assisting with method validation verification and audits
• Supporting ISO 17025:2017 accreditation and proficiency testing
• Performing routine equipment operation and maintenance
• Meeting turnaround times and communicating issues to the Lab Manager

What Were Looking For

• BSc in Biological Sciences Microbiology Molecular Biology or related field
• 13 years of experience in microbiological testing
• Hands-on experience with plating-based methods and qPCR assays
• Familiarity with cannabis-related microorganisms is an asset
• Knowledge of QA/QC ISO 17025:2017 and GLP preferred
