Job Description
As our Manufacturing Support Intern you will work as part of our Manufacturing Support Center in collaboration with our Production New Products and Quality teams. You will be responsible for day to day manufacturing tasks (3D printing CNC machining fabrication) as well as drafting designs for an assortment of process improvement and production projects. This will involve instructive sessions with our Manufacturing Support Center lead where as a student you will receive coaching on problem solving manufacturing design and inter-departmental communication around your projects to aid you in completing your tasks and building soft skills.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Draft and design parts tooling and fixtures for use in production and elsewhere
  • Prototype and manufacture parts tooling and fixtures
  • Use and maintain prototyping and fabrication equipment
  • Use CAD (Solidworks) to facilitate the above
  • Shadow production and quality teams
  • Communicate with production teams to assess and modify parts tooling and fixtures
  • Daily reporting of project status and action planning


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience with or ongoing education in drafting and CAD (Solidworks preferred)
  • Parallel thinking and creative problem solving ability (observant contributor)
  • Proficiency in communicating concepts and project details in plain language
  • Developed capacity for active listening and observation
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment

Schedule:

  • Week 1 (May 11): Department shadowing and onboarding
  • Week 2: Equipment and design training
  • Week 3: Production and quality task assistance
  • Weeks 4-10: Design and manufacturing support projects
