Job Title: Intermediate Family Law Legal Assistant
Location: Vancouver British Columbia Canada
Salary: $65000 $85000 per year (competitive dependent on experience)
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
Were partnering with a well-established law firm seeking an experienced Intermediate Family Law Legal Assistant to provide high-quality legal support in a busy family law practice. Youll work closely with senior team members and play an integral role in delivering exceptional client service and efficient file management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily legal assistance to family law lawyers including document preparation and court support.
- Prepare serve and file court documents (e.g. Notices of Trial Notices of Change of Lawyer).
- Schedule and confirm trial dates mediations discoveries meetings and conferences with all parties.
- Track deadlines and ensure compliance with filing timelines and court limitations.
- Open and maintain client files; run conflict checks and manage email correspondence.
- Maintain calendars bring forwards and prepare routine correspondence.
- Support administrative tasks including monthly invoice preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of a post-secondary Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) program or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a family law legal assistant.
- Working knowledge of BC Supreme Court Rules and family law procedures.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and Adobe.
- Experience with legal accounting software and invoicing preferred.
- Experience with practice management systems (e.g. Soluno iManage) is an asset.
- Experience in mediations would be an asset.
