Job Summary

Within the Mobility and Intelligent Transportation team as a Transportation Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing transportation and traffic studies transportation impact assessments;
  • Provide transportation planning services for municipal provincial agencies;
  • Undertaking and reviewing active and public transportation studies;
  • Conducting intersection analysis and operational reviews using Synchro and SIDRA.
  • Participating in mobility modeling simulation and static or dynamic analysis using tools such as AIMSUN VISUM/VISSIM and SynchroSim;
  • Writing and coordinating the preparation of technical reports;
  • Designing geometric reconfigurations of urban roads and intersections;
  • Designing traffic signal systems;
  • Designing bicycle lanes and dedicated bus lanes;
  • Carrying out activities related to alignment studies and the preparation of geometry marking and signage plans;
  • Representing the project team to the client to ensure that ongoing work meets their expectations.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering or equivalent;
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (or eligible to apply and attain);
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation planning/ traffic engineering;
  • Knowledge of local and provincial transportation engineering standards;
  • Strong report-writing skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams;
  • Proficiency with civil engineering design software;
  • Graduate degree in transportation or traffic and road safety (an asset);
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) (an asset);
  • Proficiency in English (French an asset).
