Job Summary
Within the Mobility and Intelligent Transportation team as a Transportation Engineer your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing transportation and traffic studies transportation impact assessments;
- Provide transportation planning services for municipal provincial agencies;
- Undertaking and reviewing active and public transportation studies;
- Conducting intersection analysis and operational reviews using Synchro and SIDRA.
- Participating in mobility modeling simulation and static or dynamic analysis using tools such as AIMSUN VISUM/VISSIM and SynchroSim;
- Writing and coordinating the preparation of technical reports;
- Designing geometric reconfigurations of urban roads and intersections;
- Designing traffic signal systems;
- Designing bicycle lanes and dedicated bus lanes;
- Carrying out activities related to alignment studies and the preparation of geometry marking and signage plans;
- Representing the project team to the client to ensure that ongoing work meets their expectations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering or equivalent;
- Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (or eligible to apply and attain);
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation planning/ traffic engineering;
- Knowledge of local and provincial transportation engineering standards;
- Strong report-writing skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams;
- Proficiency with civil engineering design software;
- Graduate degree in transportation or traffic and road safety (an asset);
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) (an asset);
- Proficiency in English (French an asset).
