About the Role

A leading international financial technology environmentis looking for a Functional Data Architect to join its global DataArchitecture community.

In this role you will play a key part in shaping howdata is designed stored governed and consumed across large-scalefinancial systems. You will work closely with business stakeholders ITdelivery teams and the Data Office ensuring that data architectures complywith regulatory requirements and enterprise data governance standards.

This position offers high visibility strongcross-functional collaboration and the opportunity to influence enterprise-widedata strategy.

What You Will Do

• Advise project teams on data architecture data privacy data security and governance
• Perform data assessments for new applications and IT assets ensuring proper documentation of:
• Data storage and encryption
• Cloud deployment models
• Data exchanges and interfaces
• Design review and maintain logical and physical data models
• Create and update data dictionaries metadata and lineage
• Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance frameworks and update architecture tools accordingly
• Collaborate with Data Quality teams to identify and resolve data quality issues impacting reporting
• Contribute to the evolution of the Enterprise Data Model
• Lead training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops on data management best practices
• Manage recertification decommissioning and data archiving activities

Key Responsibilities

• Data Modeling & Design: Logical and physical models data catalogs master data relationships
• Governance & Compliance: Apply BCBS 239 GDPR CCPA and internal data standards
• Project Support: Embed data governance into delivery pipelines
• Metadata & Lineage Management: Maintain accurate architecture records
• Change & Knowledge Management: Documentation training and cross-region collaboration
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with Data Office architects security and local IT teams

Technical & Professional Requirements

• Masters degree in Computer Science Information Management or related field
• 36 years of experience in Data Architecture preferably in Banking or Financial Services
• Strong knowledge of data management concepts: modeling data quality security metadata
• Experience with data governance or catalog tools (e.g. Collibra Informatica MS Purview)
• Ability to communicate data models clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with data platforms such as Abacus Ab Initio Talend Data Catalog EBX/xDM
• Familiarity with visualization or data science platforms (Power BI Tableau Dataiku)
• Hands-on experience with modeling tools (Archi PowerDesigner or similar)
• Knowledge of cloud environments encryption and data formats (JSON XML SWIFT)
• Architecture certifications (DAMA TOGAF or equivalent) are a plus
