We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to represent the voices of young people who are facing challenges related to drugs or alcohol.
Responsibilities
We are looking for an enthusiastic young person aged 16-25 to volunteer with us as a Young Persons Representative.
Positive Futures offers support to young people and young adults under the age of 25 who are facing challenges with drugs and alcohol. As a Young Representative you will represent the views of young people in our service and use young peoples feedback to help us make improvements.
Key activities include:
- Engage with young people who access our services by listening to their views and asking for their feedback
- Represent the views and opinions of young people who access our services
- Keep young people informed about any changes or decisions made as a result of their feedback.
- Work with staff and the community to improve and develop the service
- Promote and encourage ongoing service development in a variety of different ways within the service and community.
- Create a welcoming and safe space where young people feel comfortable to share their honest thoughts and experiences.
- Suggest improvements for service resources and interventions to make them more accessible and relatable for young people receiving support.
- Take part in interview panels for new staff
- Help to hear the voice of the underrepresented
Where: Gateshead at our office and within the community.
When: Volunteering will be done between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and so you must have some availability during these times. We will work with you to be as flexible as possible so that you can fit volunteering around your other commitments. If you would like to discuss this before applying please email Daniel.
