Job Summary: The company is seeking to hire an experienced Settlement and Reconciliation Officer who will be responsible for resolving all reconciliation issues arising from transactions and performing automated back-office processing such as dispute processing settlement reconciliation and reporting.
The role requires advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including the ability to analyze high-volume transaction data as well as a strong understanding of payment gateway operations and the end-to-end transaction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Reconcile and verify all settlement files obtained from the System before settlement.
Report all inconsistencies realized during verification and reconciliation of the settlement files to the technical team and line manager for resolution before the actual settlement.
Coordinate with Customer Experience teams to communicate transaction claims (reversals) successfully processed and settled.
Coordinate with Reconciliation teams of participating member banks to address their reconciliation issues and provide support promptly.
Compile all days transaction vouchers and records and file them accordingly.
Adhere to key processes in line with the respective job requirements to achieve high levels of operational efficiency.
Identify process gaps in key areas and suggest remedial measures to address the gaps.
Maintain and update a tracker of customer invoices and collections while following up with customers to ensure payments are received on time.

Key Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration Economics or a related field.
2-3 years experience in Settlement and reconciliation in the Banking/Financial sector.
Experience reconciling data from multiple sources (core system bank statements switch reports).
Familiarity with NIBSS card schemes (Visa Mastercard Verve) and alternative payment channels is an advantage.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and data analytical skills.
Excellent written and oral Communication skills.
Quick learning abilities and flexibility in all aspects.
