Job Summary
In partnership with our client we are seeking an HSE Officer who knows that on a construction site safety is never a formality. It is the difference between a project that delivers and a tragedy that defines. This is a role for a committed experienced safety professional who takes personal responsibility for the wellbeing of every worker on site ensures environmental compliance and builds a culture where safety comes first always. Who are we looking for
- You are an experienced HSE professional with a strong track record in the construction industry.
- You are proactive and vigilant always anticipating safety risks before they become incidents.
- You are a confident trainer able to educate and engage workers at all levels on safety practices and procedures.
- You are thorough and methodical in your site inspections leaving no hazard unaddressed.
- You are a skilled investigator able to examine accidents and incidents objectively and extract lessons that prevent recurrence.
- You are knowledgeable about environmental regulations and committed to ensuring the organisation operates in full compliance.
Your Responsibilities
Safety Management
- You will develop and implement safety procedures and policies that reflect best practice and meet regulatory requirements.
- You will conduct regular site safety inspections across all active project sites identifying and addressing hazards promptly.
- You will train workers on safety practices ensuring every team member understands and follows established safety procedures.
Incident Management
- You will investigate accidents and incidents thoroughly identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- You will maintain accurate records of all safety incidents inspections and corrective actions.
Environmental Compliance
- You will ensure the organisations operations comply with all applicable environmental regulations across all project sites.
What Success looks like
- Safety procedures and policies are in place clearly communicated and consistently followed across all project sites.
- Site safety inspections are conducted regularly with hazards identified and resolved before they cause harm.
- All workers are trained on safety practices resulting in a measurable improvement in safety awareness and behaviour on site.
- Accident and incident rates are tracked and continuously reduced through proactive safety management.
- Full environmental compliance is maintained across all sites with no regulatory violations.
To be considered for this role you should have
- A Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Engineering Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH ISPON or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of HSE experience within a top construction company.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
- Excellent training communication and incident investigation skills.
