Your Responsibilities
Audit and Compliance
- You will audit financial records and payment processes to ensure accuracy integrity and compliance with internal controls.
- You will review procurement processes and contract awards to identify irregularities inefficiencies or potential fraud.
- You will detect and flag instances of fraud waste or abuse across all areas of the business.
Risk and Controls
- You will evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management frameworks across the organisation.
- You will recommend improvements to internal control systems to strengthen financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Reporting
- You will provide independent objective audit reports to management highlighting findings risks and recommended actions.
- You will follow up on previously identified issues to ensure corrective actions have been implemented effectively.
What Success looks like
- Financial records and payment processes are audited regularly with findings clearly documented and acted upon.
- Procurement and contract award processes are transparent compliant and free of irregularities.
- Internal controls are consistently evaluated and strengthened reducing the organisations exposure to financial risk.
- Management receives timely accurate and independent audit reports that support informed decision-making.
- Instances of fraud waste and abuse are identified early and addressed decisively.
To be considered for this role you should have
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- A professional certification such as ACA ACCA or CIA is an advantage.
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of internal audit experience within a top construction company.
- Strong knowledge of financial controls procurement processes and risk management.
- Excellent analytical investigative and report-writing skills.
- High level of integrity and professional independence.
