Job Summary

Description

The Dean of Arts will lead the Arts Pillar overseeing curriculum faculty programs and partnerships to enrich student learning and community engagement.

Essential Functions:

Head of the Arts Pillar oversee arts life including all issues relating to students faculty and parents such as curriculum programming faculty development and performances/shows.
Serve as primary contact for strategic partnerships in the arts residencies and summer programs.
Supervise the Arts Department Chairs and Program Coordinators
Partner with the Dean of Faculty for the recruitment and selection of all arts and teaching staff.
Partner the Dean of Students to work with the Grade Level Deans to respond to students and parents Arts concerns.
Partner with the Dean of Academics to help coordinate arts with the academic life of the school.
Develop and manage budgets for the arts pillar.
Develop a long-term strategic plan and vision for the arts pillar.
Represent Arts at school events and external showcases.
Contribute to the Student/Parent Handbook and serve on committees.
Participate in the Senior Administrative and Internal Operations groups.
Teach one class per semester or one-year long course.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in arts-related field required; MFA preferred.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students faculty and parents.
Creative and strategic leadership with ability to manage multiple programs.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Works in office classroom backstage onstage and gallery environments
Works in a highly active and demanding environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges deadlines and diverse responsibilities.
May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
