The College of Engineeringhas anexcitingopeningforan Event Program Manager.This is aunion-contracted hourlypart-time(50%FTE) andtemporaryfive-monthappointment.

The salary information provided below is for a full-time position and will be prorated forpart-time.
The Event Program Managerplansandexecutesa variety of strategic projectsfor the College of Engineeringincluding events intended to enhance and increase alumni and donor engagement studentsupportand community outreach.
What You Will Do:
Event ProductionSupport
Manage and support in-person events to engage alumnidonorsandthe community includingEngineering Discovery Dayswhich isatwo-day event is designed for 4th through 8th-grade students and features hands-on activities thatshowcasethe exciting work of engineers.Responsibilities include coordinating sponsors volunteers studentexhibitsandevent materials.
Partner withtheCOEEvents teamon spring quarter events includingAdmitted Student Day Research Symposium Capstone graduations. Responsibilitiesincludehandling invitations venue coordination guestcommunicationsandday-oflogistics.
Manage external vendorsincluding designersprintersandcaterers.
Provide on-site event support for small and large-scale events including setup breakdown guestrelationsandlogistics.
Marketing and Communications
Create and send digitaleventinvitationsremindersand RSVPs.
Develop event materials includingprograms handoutssignageandweb graphicsusing design tools like Canva.
Guide projects through design editingproductionanddistribution.
Ensure all materials align with University and College branding standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
MinimumRequirements:
Bachelors degreeORfour years of experience in event planning project management alumnirelationsor developmentexperience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license/certification/registration.
What You Bring:
Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Officeand familiarity with Google Suite collaboration tools.
Experience with design software such asCanva.
Self-motivatedfocusedandable to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
Commitment to accuracyconfidentialityandtimeliness.
Physical ability to lift/ move 2030lbs and transport event supplies across campus and large buildings.
Abilityto manage event setup and tear down includingstanding and walking forfour or morehours continuouslyandworking event days exceeding 10 hours.
What You Can Expect:
This is a contractedposition under the SEIU 925 union contract: position is a part-time temporary roleforfive(5)monthsand isscheduled to work for 20hours per week based on business needs. Hybrid-work schedule eligible.
Workload and times will vary particularly leading up to event days including morningeveningandweekend hours as needed with notice.
Cubicle/open workspace environment that may result in higher noise levels and visual distractions.
