Position Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Service Delivery the incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of financial functions by providing the following key activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure invoices are reviewed assessed and paid in a timely manner and are documented for proper tracking and ensure elimination of duplicate payment.
- Process cheques and travel requisitions.
- Coding and entering financial information into Excel spreadsheets.
- Ensure all invoices are reconciled with purchase orders.
- Ensure cheques receive proper signing authority and are distributed in a timely manner.
- Respond to internal and external inquires in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Setting up accounts with various vendors.
- Maintain Petty Cash by reconciling receipts to expenses and replenishment
- Develop and maintain easy access filing system related to accounts payable supplier agreements and/or contracts.
- Knowledgeable of financial terms general ledgers cost-share department codes etc.
- Develop excellent working relationships with suppliers.
- Assist in the development of budgets and calculating salaries and MERCs formula.
- Dependable punctual and reliable with professional ethics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education in finance accounting or a related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Sage computer accounting systems Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent written communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills to work in a First Nations environment.
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and be able to travel upon request.
- Adhere to Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs policies and procedures and Financial Policy Manual.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license and vehicle is an asset but not
