We are seeking a highly experienced strategic and results-driven senior environmental planning leader to join Dudeks CEQA/NEPA Team. This role is intended for an advanced professional who operates independently on large complex multidisciplinary projects and plays a key role in client relationships financial performance and business development. The individual selected will work collaboratively with Dudeks environmental team across northern central and/or southern California to manage and prepare CEQA/NEPA documents for programmatic planning documents (public and private sector) infrastructure energy educational residential commercial and industrial development. This position may be based out of various office location including but not limited to Oakland Bakersfield Santa Barbara or Pasadena.Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management and Technical Leadership
- Independently serve as Project Manager for CEQA/NEPA document preparation on large-scale and complex projects overseeing the environmental component of projects program-wide.
- Provide strategic guidance recommendations document review contract management and schedule oversight for all environmental clearance documents and processes.
- Oversee and manage project scope schedule and budget ensuring deliverables meet client standards regulatory requirements and Dudek quality expectations.
- Apply advanced professional judgment to resolve complex technical regulatory and project delivery challenges.
Client Relationships and Satisfaction
- Strengthen and maintain relationships with senior-level public agency and private-sector client representatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to our clients and maintain our reputation and professional standards on all deliverables and interactions .
- Represent Dudek at stakeholder working groups public hearings and outreach activities as a senior project and client representative.
Leadership and Mentorship
- Supervise train and mentor staff in project management fundamentals technical skill development budgeting financial awareness and work product review.
- Promote a culture of teamwork engagement quality service and accountability across project teams.
Financial Performance
- Drive strong financial performance across an expanding portfolio of projects clients and on-call contracts.
- Track and manage key project-related financial metrics including utilization revenue generation and project profitability.
Business Development
- Consistently serve as a proposal champion and play a lead role in winning new work.
- Lead complex multidisciplinary proposals and interview teams.
- Identify and pursue new client services project opportunities and market sector growth aligned with Dudeks strategic goals.
- Enhance Dudeks professional reputation through creative innovative and professional representation of the firm.
Safety
- Execute and ensure compliance with Dudeks EHS policies and procedures.
- Implement required safety protocols and ensure safety standards are followed across all projects and contracts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in environmental planning environmental sciences urban and regional planning geography or a closely related field.
- 15 or more years of professional experience in environmental impact assessment including demonstrated success in CEQA and/or NEPA document preparation.
- Extensive project management experience overseeing complex contracts budgets schedules multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants.
- Strong leadership communication organization writing and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint Word and Excel.
- Ability to travel regionally for business as needed.
- Must possess a valid drivers license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by the first day of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in environmental planning environmental sciences urban and regional planning geography or a closely related field.
- Deep understanding of financial management revenue forecasting and profitability in a consulting environment.
- Advanced experience leading competitive proposals and client interviews with a strong win rate.
- Established relationships with key public agencies or private-sector clients in California.

Compensation: $130000-$180000 annually*
