We are a team of highly skilled professional staff who are part of the Academic Division and are responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality effective service delivery to all of the Universitys internal and external customers.
Our specific focus is on the student experience felt by our students here at the University of Otago. We work to provide accurate and timely information assistance and advice across activities such as University admission; programme admission; scholarship administration; course advice assessment academic record maintenance academic progression (including prizes and awards) and graduation.
The role Te mahi
As a Lead Administrator within our Student Administration team you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of Student Administration services; focused on the provision of timely accurate courteous and consistent advice information and assistance across all activities within our unit.
You will work in partnership with key academic areas to provide and manage support activities across a variety of portfolios. You will play an important role in prioritising and setting workload as well as acting as an escalation point for complex and/or challenging enquiries. A key aspect of this role will be to ensure the continual improvement of administrative practices to optimise efficiency and quality.
This role will be placed within the admissions portfolio predominantly working with Health Sciences Undergraduate Professional Programmes. The specific tasks in your role will vary however the following key tasks apply to all portfolios:
Providing a range of Student Administration activities including overseeing prioritisation and workload setting.
Undertaking operational activities and/or projects such as: streamlining processes to ensure efficiency across different aspects of your portfolios.
Ensuring staff are informed and understand legislative obligations and privacy requirements.

Successful candidates will have:
Exposure to work in a busy administration environment.
A passion for customer service and delivering exceptional service to students.
An ongoing commitment to positive outcomes for our staff and students.
Previous supervisory experience or exposure to managing teams.
Strong Microsoft office and PC skills (eVision a plus).

This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) permanent position based in Ōtepoti Dunedin.
The appointment range for this role is $80749 to $85649 per annum. Top of the range is $100776.
