Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Roadway Engineer to focus on complex roadway design. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who prefers to focus on design excellence and technical staff mentorship rather than project management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead technical roadway design for transportation projects including ODOT and county/municipal agencies
Develop and review roadway plans including roadway alignments profiles cross sections traffic control and maintenance of traffic design
Perform detailed plan reviews for quality standards compliance and constructability
Support internal QA/QC processes and design best practices
Mentor junior technical staff and provide design guidance including checking and review
Maintain proficiency in current roadway design standards and software
Review and stamp bridge plans as Engineer of Record when required

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
20 years of roadway design experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Extensive experience with ODOT and local agency design standards
Strong working knowledge of plan set development and expertise with roadway design software (Civil 3D Open Roads or similar)
