Technical Sales Engineer
About the Role:
We are seeking a driven and technically strong Technical Sales Engineer to join our Omaha NE team. This role blends engineering expertise with consultative selling ideal for professionals who enjoy solving complex technical challenges while building long-term customer relationships.
As a Technical Sales Engineer you will act as a trusted advisor to manufacturers utilities consultants and system integrators. You will combine your understanding of automation technologies with strong communication skills to recommend and deliver solutions that improve performance efficiency and reliability.
This is an outside sales role with territory responsibility offering the opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge automation control and motion technologies while directly impacting business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities through networking vendor collaboration and market research
- Support existing customers and expand account relationships within the Omaha territory
- Prepare quotations process orders submit documentation and provide technical assistance
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations tailored to customer application needs
- Travel within territory using a company vehicle to maintain and strengthen client relationships
- Continuously expand knowledge of automation technologies products and industrial applications
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience with PLCs VFDs industrial communications industrial software or precision motion control
- Degree in Automation Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Understanding of engineering design concepts and industrial practices
- Ability to develop presentations and sales quotations and clearly explain technical concepts
- Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills
- Comfortable working independently without micro-management
