Position SummarySomerset Berkley Regional School District and Somerset Public Schools are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Special Education Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the Special Education Department and the Director. This position supports scheduling documentation compliance and communication in accordance with federal and Massachusetts special education laws including IDEA and 603 CMR Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative support to the Director of Special EducationSchedule and coordinate IEP Team meetings evaluations and related servicesPrepare and distribute meeting notices correspondence and required documentationMaintain accurate and confidential special education records in compliance with IDEA 603 CMR 28.00 and FERPATrack and monitor special education timelines to ensure complianceServe as a primary point of contact for families staff service providers and outside agenciesAssist with data entry reporting and maintenance of student and special education information systemsPrepare reports spreadsheets and departmental correspondenceAssist with purchasing invoices and tracking of department supplies and servicesSupport state reporting audits and department initiatives as assignedAssist in the arrangement of specialized transportation servicesTerms of EmploymentFull-time 12-month positionBenefits per district policy
