Position Title:LPS District Ensemble Assistant Director for Modern Vocal Ensemble

Position Details:
The LPS District Ensemble Assistant Director for the High School Modern Vocal Ensemble works with selected high school vocal students in grades 9-12 for a district wide choir. This group places emphasis on music that is accessible and meaningful to the students of the ensemble. The assistant director will collaborate with the head director to provide students with opportunities which help deepen cultural experience through history shared experiences and musical context of selected repertoire. The assistant director is responsible for auditioning students district wide parent communication assisting with conducting instruction of weekly rehearsals/sectionals and concert set-up/tear-down. This job requires a sharing of responsibilities with the director and other duties as assigned that support the ensemble. Must have a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate and experience in leading a vocal ensemble (school or community). Rehearsals will follow the LPS calendar and one day per week outside of school hours. Includes public performances and semester concerts.
Compensation:
Paid through Extra Standard $5710 per year. Non-contractual assignment. Reports to Supervisor of ASAP with planning 2nd semester to start group in the Fall. Compensation for 1/2 year to start ASAP.
Position subject to veterans preference.

Education Level: Minimum of a Bachelors degree Certification. Must have a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate. Required Experience: Knowledge of effective teaching methods and demonstrated successful classroom experience. Experience in leading or assisting a vocal music ensemble (school or community choir). Other Requirements: Successful experiences of which required collaboration teamwork/team-teaching planning and preparation is desired.
