Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Jewish-Christian Studies with a demonstrably Catholic perspective and with specialization in the Bible and its interpretation; secondary specialization in Christian ethics preferred. Ph.D. in the field required. The academic expertise should include Christian and Jewish sources and their interactions in the early centuries of the common era and candidates should be fluent in Catholic teaching on interreligious dialogue and Catholic/Jewish relations. Courses will be at graduate and undergraduate levels in the Department of Religion and the Graduate Program in Jewish-Christian Studies. Candidate will be expected to teach a graduate course on the Jewish-Christian encounter as well as introductory undergraduate courses.

Since 1975 Seton Halls M.A. in Jewish-Christian Studies program has taught students the history theology ethics and scriptures of the Jewish and Christian faiths in the context of Jewish-Christian relations. The first of its kind in the United States this degree offers a certificate as well as both a thesis and a non-thesis option.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Consistent scholarly publication in the field.
18-credits of teaching per academic year at graduate and undergraduate levels in the Dept of Religion and the Graduate Program in Jewish-Christian Studies.
Candidate will be expected to teach a graduate course on the Jewish-Christian encounter as well as introductory undergraduate courses.
All undergraduate courses to be taught in-person on the South Orange Campus.
